Hyque Technology ("Hyque," "we," "us," or "our") builds software and AI automation for businesses and runs Hyque School, an online academy for programming and AI. This policy explains what personal information we collect across our website, AI Studio, dashboard, and mobile app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
By using hyquetech.com or our mobile app, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly, and some information automatically as you use our services.
Information you provide:
- Contact form: your name, email, phone number, and message.
- Quote requests: your name, email, phone, company, the service you're interested in, and your project details.
- Course enrollment: your name, email, phone, and the course you'd like to join.
- Account signup: your name, email, and password (we store a one-way cryptographic hash of your password, never the password itself).
- Google Sign-In: your name and email address, shared with us by Google if you choose to sign in that way, on the website or in our mobile app.
- AI Studio: the prompts you submit, any photo you upload for editing, and the images, video, or music we generate for you.
- Payments: when you recharge AI tokens, our payment processor collects your card or mobile money details directly. We never see or store your full card number, only the amount, currency, and outcome of the transaction.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic analytics about how you use our site (pages visited, general behavior) via Google Analytics.
- Session cookies that keep you logged in to your dashboard or, for staff, the admin panel.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Respond to contact messages, quote requests, and enrollment inquiries.
- Create and manage your account, and remember your AI Studio token balance, generation history, enrollments, and quote requests.
- Process AI Studio generations and deliver the resulting image, video, or music back to you.
- Process token recharges and send purchase receipts.
- Send account-related email: welcome messages, password resets, and confirmations that we've received your submission.
- Improve our website and services, and understand how visitors use them.
- Meet legal, security, and fraud-prevention obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. AI Studio and the Chat Assistant
When you generate an image, video, or piece of music in AI Studio, your prompt (and, for photo edits, your uploaded photo) is processed by the AI infrastructure that powers our service and is stored on our servers so you can revisit your generation history from your dashboard. When you chat with Bleez, our assistant, your messages are processed by the AI infrastructure that powers chat and voice replies in order to generate a response. We don't use your prompts, chat messages, or generated content to train AI models, and we don't share them with anyone except the infrastructure providers strictly necessary to generate the result you asked for.
Please don't submit sensitive personal information (like government ID numbers, financial account details, or health information) in an AI Studio prompt or a chat message, since these are processed by automated systems rather than reviewed by a person.
4. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
- Session cookies (
hyque_user_session, andhyque_sessionfor staff) keep you logged in. These are strictly necessary and can't be turned off without logging you out. - Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics, help us understand aggregate site usage. You can opt out using your browser's cookie settings or a browser extension like Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
We don't use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
5. Payments
AI token recharges are processed by a third-party payment processor. When you pay, you're sending your card or mobile money details directly to that processor, not to Hyque. We only receive confirmation of the amount paid and the tokens to credit to your account. Please refer to your payment processor's own privacy policy for how it handles your payment details.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited personal information with service providers who help us run Hyque Technology, each bound to use it only to provide their service to us:
- Google Analytics, for website usage statistics.
- Google Sign-In, if you choose to log in with your Google account.
- A payment processor, for AI token recharges.
- An email service provider, to deliver account and transactional emails.
- AI infrastructure providers, to power AI Studio generation and the Bleez chat assistant (including its voice replies).
These providers may process data on servers located outside Kenya. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place for international data transfers.
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services, respond to your inquiries, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll delete or anonymize your personal information, except where we're required or permitted by law to keep it longer (for example, financial records related to a payment).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection law, including Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on consent, at any time.

9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Hyque School courses are intended for learners old enough to independently create an account and enter into an agreement with us. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between your browser and our servers, one-way hashing of passwords, and restricted access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we work hard to protect your information, we can't guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example as we add new features or as laws change. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. If a change is significant, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know, such as by email or a notice on our site.
